Commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA Japan), the Hiroshima Peacebuilders Center (HPC) offers “the Mid-Career Course of the Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development (Global Peacebuilders Program)” in JFY 2022.
The Mid-Career Course is a 7-day long training course, which is designed to enhance participants’ Communication/Negotiation and Leadership/Management competencies necessary for career development in international organizations. The Course is conducted in English (no translation), and it requires full attendance (in-person) to receive a certificate at the end.
The course consists of interactive discussions and role-play exercises led by experienced facilitators working on the front lines of peacebuilding and development at the UN and other international organizations. Along with strengthening the comprehensive adaptability required to overcome challenges such as changes in positions within organizations and increasingly complex responsibilities, the Course also aims to provide feedback from facilitators to each participant on his/her performance. In addition, it offers the participants ample opportunity to develop the networks invaluable for advancing their careers through individual meetings with facilitators, and informal networking events.
Intended Audience
The Mid-Career Course is open to 20 participants from all nationalities with about 10 years of work experience in fields related to peacebuilding and development who aspire to further advance their professional careers in these fields.
Fee Information
The Mid-Career Course is offered free of charge for selected participants.
